Our approach

The best protection is the kind no one sees. It is a route that was checked, a door that was already open, a problem that never reached you.

We don't do the theatre of dark glasses and earpieces. Our protection professionals are planners first: they study the itinerary, choose the routes, know the venues and stay calm in the room.

Layers, not muscle

Every assignment is built in layers around you, from the outside in. Most clients never see the outer ones working.

  1. Intelligence and advance

Open-source research, venue and route reconnaissance, and contingency plans prepared before you arrive.

  2. Secure movement

Protection-trained chauffeurs, planned and varied routes, vehicle checks and confidential schedules.

  3. Close protection

Licensed protection professionals at your side, dressed for the setting and working at the distance you prefer.

  4. Home and venue

Residential coverage and event protection, coordinated with your household staff, hotel or host.

How an assignment works

Confidential from the first call.

  1. Confidential consultation

A call with a protection lead about who is travelling, where, when and why.

  2. Assessment

We review the itinerary, venues and any known concerns, and judge the level of risk honestly.

  3. A written plan

Coverage, team, vehicles and price, proportionate to the risk. Nothing more than you need.

  4. Deployment

Advance work first, then the assignment itself, with one coordinator as your single point of contact.

  5. Review

A short debrief after the assignment, and a plan on file for the next visit.

Licensed and accountable

In British Columbia, protecting a person is regulated security work. We do it properly.

  • Security business licence under BC's Security Services Act: PLACEHOLDER: BC security business licence number
  • Every protection professional holds a BC security worker licence
  • Commercial liability insurance: PLACEHOLDER: insurance coverage amount
  • No firearms: private security in Canada does not carry them, so our work is built on planning and avoidance
  • Confidentiality agreements available for every assignment PLACEHOLDER: confirm NDA availability

Is your protection service licensed in British Columbia?
Yes. Guarding or protecting a person is security work under BC's Security Services Act. Hermes Travel provides protection under security business licence PLACEHOLDER: BC security business licence number, and every protection professional on a detail holds a BC security worker licence. You can verify any BC licence on the provincial registry.
Do your protection professionals carry firearms?
No. Private security in Canada does not carry firearms. Our protection is built on planning, awareness and avoidance: choosing routes, timing and venues so that problems never reach you.
What happens in a protection assessment?
A confidential conversation about who is travelling, where and when, and any known concerns. We review the itinerary, venues and routes, then recommend the right level of coverage, from a protection-trained chauffeur to a full close protection detail. You receive a written proposal before anything is booked.
How discreet is your protection?
As discreet as the situation allows. Our team dresses for the setting, works at a distance when that is appropriate, and never shares client names, itineraries or images. Non-disclosure agreements are available on request. PLACEHOLDER: confirm NDA availability
Can protection be combined with chauffeur service?
Yes, and that is how most clients use it. The same coordinator plans your transport and protection, so routes, timings and vehicles are planned together. Secure chauffeur service.
How quickly can you arrange protection?
Planned assignments are best booked a week or more ahead so advance work can be done properly. Short-notice requests: PLACEHOLDER: short-notice protection policy
Who do you protect?
Executives and boards, families and family offices, visiting delegations and VIPs, talent and productions filming in British Columbia, and guests at private and corporate events.
